Nebraska Jul 2, 2008 Great Value for Family Vacation!!!!”

We found the Indian Trail Motel by doing a search on Trip Advisor and booked a 4 night stay in June. We were very pleased with the accomodations and with the staff! It's family-owned and the owners are friendly and helpful. Our family enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools. Another plus, there is good coffee in the mornings in the lobby. We received a Dells Fun Card ($10 value) free when we checked in. They also sold us discounted tickets for Mt. Olympus ($25/person for 2 days passes) - which by the way is a great deal - you can easily spend 2 days at Mt Olympus if you love water slides, go karts and roller coasters! The housekeeping was exceptional!! We came back each evening to a very tidy room - beds were made, fresh towels, the kids' stuffed animals were even lined up on the bed for them. :) I had read one review complaining that they did not like the TV - who goes on vacation to watch TV? - for Pete's sake! The TV's are not new/high tech but they had cable for the boys to watch while Mom got ready in the mornings! Our room was $65/night during the week - I believe it's a bit more on weekends. Can't beat the price. We would definitely stay there again!

“Great motel equals great vacation” Watertown, WI Jun 30, 2008

My husband and I wanted to get away to the Dells for a few days, so I did some research on all the hotels/motels in the area. I read on Tripadvisor many good reviews on the Indian Trail Motel so we decided to book a room. We booked the king/jacuzzi suite from June 25th-29th. It was very reasonably priced and they gave us a bit of a discount for staying 4 nights. We were planning on going to the waterparks and most of the main attractions in the Dells, so we didn't want to spend a lot on the room since we wouldn't be there much anyways.
We were not expecting that much because we knew it is an older motel and the price we got it for was so reasonable. We were very plesantly surprised. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. We recieved a free dells party card (which offers buy one get on drinks) and a free Dells fun card ( has buy one get one free attractions and meals)both you can buy online for $10.00 each. We also recieved other coupons for attractions and a spa.
The room was very nice. You could tell it was newly remodeled with new carpet, bathroom floor and sink. The jacuzzi was huge and everything was very clean. It had a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, dvd player, and tv. The room had a sundeck right outside the door with a table and umbrella and 2 chairs. They also have a parking spot right outside your room.
The pools were very clean and a perfect temperature. They have a park like setting, grills, ping pong and shuffle board. It is in a perfect location, 4 blocks away from downtown so you can walk and not have to deal with all the traffic. There is a restraunt on the property called Family Chef, which has good food reasonably priced and no waiting, which is very hard to find in the dells. Overall this was a great vacation and our stay here exceeded our expectaions and we will definately stay here again.

“Great Escape at a Great price!” Illinois Apr 30, 2008

After driving too far & being too tired this place was a real treat:
We appreciated the clean room & perfect temperature water of the pool! The jacuzzi was even better.
Some places don't give decent advice when you ask--
Indian Trail gave us some great inside scoops on where to go for deals, what was new & exciting & even great restaurant choices!
Thanks for great service & a wonderful stay!
See you again this summer! Stan & Romie

“Good Value, room to relax.” Kenosha WI Aug 5, 2007

We got a good value at the Indian Trail. The grounds are very large, there is a nature trail, our room was very clean, nothing fancy, but we slept well as it was very quiet at night. The pools were very clean, the coffee in the lobby was very good. We were only a few blocks from the crazy downtown area but it felt like we were far away from the noise and the crowds. Overall, for a no frills motel in the Dells We recommend the Indian Trail.

We have vacationed in the Dells many times over the past 30 years. This year we happened upon the Indian Trails Motel. We stayed in their 3-bedroom house unit with two bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room and living room (and 2 TVs). This worked well for three generations of family. It was off the busy main attraction area, but within walking distance of downtown. It was quiet (birds and deer), had a hiking trail, wonderful indoor and outdoor pools and very accommodating owners. The only down side was driving through the downtown crowd during peak tourist hours. Not a bad trade-off in order to stay away from the crowds. And the price was competative, if not reasonable. The family restaurant that is located next door has good food and service. Great experience. We hope to do it again!

We stayed at the Indian Trail the evening of the 4th of July. It is a very quiet and peaceful motel. We were able to watch the fireworks from the front lawn. The pool and the surrounding grounds were very clean. We will definately stay there again.

When we decided to go the Dells, I was overwhelmed with all of the hotel choices. Based on the positive reviews regarding Indian Trails, I decided to try it. We were there from July 4-6. For the price, it was excellent. It is several blocks away from the downtown, which is a good thing. It was quiet, the pool was clean, a good temperature, and never crowded. The indoor pool and whirlpool area looked like new. Even after playing at various waterparks during the day, my kids (7 & 11) still enjoyed swimming every night in the pool.
The hotel sits off of the road, so you don't hear any noise. The owners provide equipment for shuffle board and ping pong which are outdoors. Family Chef, is next to the motel, and provide a good, less crowded, quick dining option.
The hotel room itself looked like it was out of the 1970's (wood paneling), but linens, bathrooms, clean. Good sized fridge and microwave in room which was very convenient. Flowers are planted around the grounds, and there are benches to sit and relax on. We were able to watch the fireworks from the front lawn and owners had a bonfire that night out back.
Many of the comparably priced motels are in the busy section of town and their pools are right by the road. After several busy days in the Dells, that was the last thing I wanted. Indian Trails is a nice place to relax at the end of the day.

"Lived up to the reviews"Jul 3, 2006: A TripAdvisor Member, Cortlandt Manor, NY

Decided to try the Indian Trail after reading the reviews on this site. What a pleasant motel. We stayed for 3 nights-the room was clean and comfortable, the indoor pool was clean and well maintained. The best part was the quiet, relaxing atmosphere of the grounds. I also received Mt. Olympus tix free which made the price I paid a real bargain (If you have AAA make sure you mention it when you make the reservation)
My only regret was that I did not budget a day into my vacation for just relaxing at the hotel. The owners were pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again

"All-American Vacation!" Jun 21, 2006: A TripAdvisor Member, Kenton, OH

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Wisconsin Dells. Stayed in unit 19 at the Indian Trail Motel there, and had a wonderful time! Three kids (13, 10, 7) and mom and dad all enjoyed the property. This is "vacation" as us baby-boomers remember it--clean motel, run by the very attentative and service-oriented owners (who live there, FYI), and lots of stuff for everyone to do! Rooms are vintage, but clean with new carpet and micro/refrig. No smells whatsoever! The pools are pristine, indoor pool and spa with sauna very nice, and the grounds are very remniscent of what I remember travelling the USA before superhighways--lots of green space, the place sits back from the road a ways. Little playground, and nature trails on premisis. To do? Tons of stuff: Must do: Noah's Ark!!! Too fun--definately do the Black Anaconda, and the Sting Ray was fun--did Cow-a-bunga 4 times--FUN! Built on a hill, easier access, less stairs. Rick Wilcox--"It's Magic!"--Very cool, professional magician and lots of high dollar illusions, very worth-while.
The Ducks--We did the lower Dells tour on the WWII Ducks, but they are fun where ever you do them. "Wild Thing" Jet boat ride--OMG--Get ready to get wet!!! Too fun, they do 360's and sudden reverse stops, the best thing there!!!!! The upper Dells are really beautiful-- geologically neat-o! (plus the boat rocks--1500hp) Should do: Top Secret--It's an upside down White House and very topsy-turve, with a little bit of tongue-in-cheek humor thrown in! Kids loved it! Pirate's Cove adventure golf--very fun--go before it ets hot--the challenge course is quite difficult for my kids (we aren't golfers) Still fun! Food: Moose Jaw--OK, busy, standard fare. The Embers--Thought it would be better than it was--OK food, never had a really great meal in WI Dells. Go, have fun, support the US economy at the candy/fudge/rock/t-shirt shops, and live the American dream!!!

"Best Deal In The Dells!" Jun 6, 2006: A TripAdvisor Member, Chicago, IL

Me and my Family stayed at Indian Trail Motel and WOW what a deal, I expected a so so room for the reasonable rate I was quoted and boy was I wrong. This was a very clean, well kept Motel with a beautiful Indoor Pool and Jaczzi. The grounds were outstanding with what I believe to be the nicest grass I ever had the pleasure of walking on. I highly recommend Indian Trail Motel and will be returning.

Went there for a swim in the pool. The pool is clean, water feels great, just the right temperature, great hours posted for availability of the pool. Good size pool too. Someone takes really good care of the outdoor pool. The indoor pool is lovely with a jacuzzi too. Rooms are a sweet retro-feel and well kept. Have a micro and refrigerator. Porch area with chairs outside the room for lounging.
The grounds are green and enjoyable. Staff there are helpful and friendly.
Super place. Highly recommend.

"Great deal! Great time!" Jul 20, 2005: A TripAdvisor Member, Bartlett, IL

We stayed for two nights, mid week, the second week in July. The motel is located about 1 minute from the main downtown area. We got a great internet rate of $65. The room had just had a redo- updated bathroom, new fridge & microwave. While the furninshings still hinted a little bit of the past, the room was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. They have a huge outdoor pool and a brand new indoor pool. hot tub and sauna. They even provided beach balls at the indoor pool that my son and I had a great time throwing around. Wisconsin Dells is not about staying in your room; so why pay a high price? I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

"Great Place for Family Reunions" Mar 14, 2004: A TripAdvisor Member, Chicago, IL

What a wonderful place to stay and meet with other family members. Had our family reunion there in July 2003 for about 50 people. Grounds are very large for kids to play and even for the adults we had a large area to play too. At night we all got together by the fireplace to sing our songs. Even other people joined in. The owners are so friendly and courtious it felt as if they were part of my family. Thank you so much.
Will be back again.

Visit Again Yes - From Chicago, Il - Year 9/2004

We went to Indian Trail for the second time this Month. We were impressed last visit (3 years ago) with how clean everything was so decided to visit again. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the grounds, pools, and room. We were also pleased with our newly remodeled room! Our stay was great!! There is no shortage of pool towels and the staff was very accommodating. I strongly recommend the Indian Trail and will be back again. The prices are very reasonable but don't let that fool you it is first class! I am a neat-nick & couldn't find a speck of dirt anywhere inside the room or outside the room.

Great job Indian Trail!

Great place for renting a Jacuzzi. Stayed here over the automotion weekend and wanted a jacuzzi. Most places have normal size jacuzzi tubs, but Indian Trail Motel had the largest most beautiful jacuzzi we ever had. This tub can hold 4 people. They had a king size bed which for us was great, because we are big people. But wow! it was great. Very nice room, and service was exceptional. Very quiet motel. Will get me back again for next year, see ya folks again. Thanks so much for a great time.

This was the first time we ever stayed here. We have always stayed across the street from them for 7 years. We were very impressed with the property when we ate at the Family Chef Restaurant which is right next door to them. We had a family reunion there and had a wonderful time. The owners are so friendly that whatever we needed they helped us. I don't know why we never stayed here before but now we will. Grounds are so big you can play golf here. Thank you so much guys, see you next year.

HI! We stayed at your motel w/ my brother this past weekend. We had rooms 51 & 52. We all had a wonderful time. The rooms were immaculate, the pools were sparkling clean, and the grounds were very well kept. My daughter is handicapped so it means a lot to have a clean room & our room was incredible. My daughters enjoyed the swings & ping-pong. We stayed w/ you 3 years back & had the same experience. We will definitely be back to stay at the Indian Trail!! Keep up the good work!! Thank you for a memorable weekend :-)

My name is William Torres & on July 4th of this year, my family & I took our very first family vacation. It was an unexpected vacation however we started driving & wound up in Wisconsin Dells. We have never been there yet always wanted to go. The reason I am writing you is because your motel was so beautiful, clean & so warming. It was our first time in a hotel/motel & it couldn't have been any better. The pricing was great, the pool, the rooms from color TV to A/C, to fridge, microwave & even a hair dryer. It was great & we enjoyed every minute of it. I don't know if I am sending this message to the appropriate person but if you are great job & thank you for allowing us to spend the night at your motel. We are thinking about going out there again, (Planning on the week of August 15th) but not for certain yet & we can't wait to spend another night or two at your motel. This time we plan on taking advantage of all your extras, like the sauna, indoor pool & Jacuzzi. We even joined the VIP club. By the way thanks for the complimentary coffee & snacks.

Great Job & Don't Change A Thing.
